How to Easily Mix Your Own Tattoo Ink
These are instructions for preparing a tattoo ink. The tutorial should only be used by persons who have received training in aseptic techniques. It takes about 1-1.5 hours. Otherwise, use this information to help ask informed questions of a tattoo professional. Does your tattooist know exactly what is in his or her ink? What You Need to Make Your Own Tattoo Ink Dry PigmentVodkaGlycerine, medical gradePropylene GlycolBlenderSafety EquipmentSterile Ink Bottles Homemade Tattoo Ink Instructions Use clean, sterile materials (see note below), put on a paper mask and gloves.Mix until clear: about 7/8 quart vodka, 1 tablespoon glycerine, and 1 tablespoon propylene glycol. In blender or jar that fits on blender, add an inch or two of powdered pigment and stir in enough liquid from step 2 to create a slurry.Blend on a low speed for about 15 minutes, then on a medium speed for an hour. If you are using a jar on the blender, release pressure buildup every fifteen minutes or so.Use a baster to siphon ink or pour it through a funnel into ink bottles. You may add a sterile marble or glass bead to each bottle to aid in mixing.Store the ink away from sunlight or fluorescent lighting, since ultraviolet radiation will alter some pigments.Keeping track of the amounts of liquid and powdered pigment will help you make consistent batches and improve your technique. You can use smaller amounts of glycerine and propylene glycol, but probably not larger amounts. Too much glycerine will make the in k oily and too much glycol will form a hard shell on top of the ink.If you are not conversant with aseptic techniques, dont make your own ink! Tips for Success Obtain dry pigment from a tattoo supply house. It is much more difficult to order pure pigment directly from a chemical supplier. One natural pigment is carbon black, obtained from completely burning wood. You may substitute Listerine or witch hazel for the vodka. Some people use distilled water. I dont recommend rubbing alcohol or methanol. Water is not antibacterial. While your supplies should be clean and sterile, do not heat-sterilize pigments or their mixtures. The pigment chemistry will change and may become toxic.Although pigments normally are not toxic, you need a mask because breathing pigment particles can cause permanent lung damage. You can use mason jars directly on the blender as long as you unscrew them periodically during mixing to prevent overpressure breakage from heating.

What Makes A Hero - 1168 Words
Superman, Abraham Lincoln, Gandhi, what do these three have in common? Theyââ¬â¢re all heroes. But what truly is a hero? Is it one who wins independence for his country, or one that helps an old lady cross the street? And should we aspire to be like this person? Using Brechtââ¬â¢s Life of Galileo, Beethovenââ¬â¢s Heiligenstadt Testament and Platoââ¬â¢s Allegory of the Cave, weââ¬â¢ll attempt to answer that question. A hero typically in todayââ¬â¢s culture is considered as someone who is admired for his courage and other noble qualities, but is this good or bad ? Galileo per example, is admired by Andrea for his amazing inventions and brilliance. Galileo teaches Andrea about science, and Andrea adores every minute of learning. He admires Galileoââ¬â¢s persistence in learning, even if itââ¬â¢s against the government. He sees Galileo as near invincible, but when Galileo is tortured into giving up science, Andrea is devastated. Seeing his hero, someone whoââ¬â¢ s suppose to have only noble qualities and be perfect, fall in fear of his own safety, makes Andrea realize his ââ¬Å"invincibleâ⬠hero is only a human. His idolizing of Galileo, in the long run, only hurt him. Which brings up the idea, should we aspire to be like our heroes? Or should we aspire to be ourselves? Each side has itââ¬â¢s pros and cons. If we aspire to be like our heroes, we will have a goal in our life, and have a strong determination to accomplish whatever life throws our way. World War Ii Essays (5465 words) - Reparations, Treaty Of Versailles
World War Ii INTRODUCTION War is one of the most tragic things in our world today. It is even sadder that usually it comes around at least once in our lifetime. In the 20th century alone we have already had two huge wars. These wars were call the World Wars simply because they involved most of the big countries of the world. Many people have died in these wars, especially the second World War. That is my focus for this essay. The leader of Germany at the time of WW2 and the person who most think started World War II was a man named Adolf Hitler. Although there are many other reasons, he was definitely one of them. Another reason was the Treaty of Versailles. This was the treaty that was signed at the end of World War 1. This treaty outlined the rules that Germany must follow because of their defeat by Britain and France. Many Germans were angered by the treaty, for most of the rules in the treaty were unfair and Germany lost a great amount of wealth. However, One of the cruelest reasons for the war was Hitler's racist hate for Jews. He would actually be the cause of one of the greatest injustices done againest human-kind in the history of the world. As the war progressed many countries became involved in the war. British forces, which consisted of troops both from England and Canada, along with France, originally declared war on Germany. Germany allied themselves with Italy and Japan, known as the Axis powers, hoped to defeat the Allies. As the war progressed though, and more countries allied themselves with the Allied Forces, such as the United States and the Soviet Union, resistance became futile and in August, 1945, the allies had successfully defeated the Nazi armies. TREATY OF VERSAILLES When World War I came to a close in mid-November of 1918, many ideas were circulating in Europe as to what the peace settlement should entail. In Britain, leaders were thinking about how to increase British colonial power. In France, many wanted to permanently punish the Germans, partly in revenge for Germany's aggression in World War I, but also, perhaps for the Franco-Prussian war in 1871. In Germany, citizens were worried about how radical changes after the war could affect their daily lives. All these biases, worries, plans, and ideas came together in Paris on the 28th of June 1919 with the Treaty of Versailles, establishing the post-war peace in Europe. Yet just twenty years later, war would once again break out in Europe. So why were the peace settlements of World War I unable to prevent the outbreak of war twenty years later in World War II? To understand this, one must first have a detailed understanding of the World War I peace settlement at Versailles Germany was also punished in regard to its colonial and imperial power. During the war, Germany had control of many small islands and archipelagos in the South Pacific. The Treaty of Versailles gave these islands to Britain and Japan. In Africa, France gained the Cameroon from Germany and Britain was given German East Africa and German West Africa. All German assets in other colonies were to be immediately dissolved into the current government of those colonies. Finally, Germany's military was to be greatly reduced in size. The Treaty mandated that Germany's standing army could be no larger than 100,000 men. In addition, their Navy was reduced, and according to Article 198, The armed forces of Germany must not include any military or naval air forces. (2) Germany's army was, in effect, useless, and without an air force, the Allies hoped that Germany would be unable ever to wage war. The Treaty of Versailles also charged Germany with the task of paying heavy reparations. The treaty set up a reparations committee that would meet sometime in 1921 to determine reparations for Germany to pay. Until then, Germany would pay $5,000,000,000 due May 1, 1921. The Germans would have to wait to see what reparations they would really pay. Until then, though, they started on the $5,000,000,000, already a very daunting task for the nation. The economic strain put on Germany was probably the single most important factor in increasing

psych 101 Magiera PAGE 8Evelyn MagieraApril 24 , 2014Professor RolonThe MetamorphosisKafka's view of society as revealed in his Metamorphosis suggests that man (as represented by Gregor Samsa) is reduced to an insect by the modern world and his family, and human nature is completely self absorbed. Kafka reflects a belief that the more generous and selfless one is, the worse one is treated. This view is in direct conflict with the way things should be; man (specifically Gregor) should be treated in accordance to his actions. Gregor should be greatly beloved by his family regardless of his state because of his great love of them. This idea is displayed in three separate themes. First, Gregor's family is only concerned with the effect Gregor's change will have on them, specifically the effect it will have on their finances and reputation. They are more than willing to take completely gratuitous advantage of Gregor; he works to pay their debt and they are happy to indulge themselves with luxury.En glish: 3:4 Portrait crop of Franz KafkaGregor is the soul employed member of his family and this is their primary interest when Gregor is transformed. Secondly, Gregor is penalized for his efforts to be a good son, and a good worker; his toils are completely taken for granted by both family and employer. The Samsa family is not interested in Gregor beyond their own needs, outsiders are reverentially treated. Thirdly, by the positive changes that occur in the Samsa family as Gregor descends into tragedy and insignificance. Science, Health, and Environmental Issues Research Proposal
Science, Health, and Environmental Issues - Research Proposal Example These disposable products become quite hazardous in terms of the toxins they release to the oceans. The toxins are also pumped into the atmosphere which contributes to the depletion of the ozone layer and loss of marine life. The better way to do business is to make use of packages which can be recycled.
